What are IGCSE's?

The IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is a globally recognised qualification typically taken by students aged 14 to 16. It provides a broad and balanced curriculum that prepares students for further academic study or vocational pathways. In the UK, it is considered equivalent to the GCSE and is respected by colleges, universities, and employers alike. The IGCSE offers flexibility through a wide range of subjects and is assessed through exams, with some coursework options available depending on the subject.

English Language

Students develop core communication skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The Edexcel IGCSE English Language course focuses on analytical reading of a variety of texts, creative writing, and constructing clear, coherent arguments—key skills for both academic success and real-world application.

This course explores a wide range of literary texts, including prose, drama, and poetry from both historical and contemporary writers. Students learn to analyse themes, character development, and language use, while developing personal interpretations of set texts under the Edexcel specification

Covering Number, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and Probability, the IGCSE Mathematics curriculum promotes problem-solving and logical thinking. Students are trained to apply mathematical methods to real-life situations and exam-style problems, building a solid foundation for further study in science, engineering, or finance

Students study the structure and functions of living organisms, including topics such as cells, genetics, ecology, and human biology. The Edexcel IGCSE Biology course develops a solid understanding of scientific methods and encourages analytical thinking through practical and theoretical work.

This subject covers the composition, structure, and reactions of matter. Students learn about the periodic table, bonding, chemical equations, acids and bases, and organic chemistry. The course combines theoretical learning with practical skills to prepare students for lab-based assessments and higher-level study.

Physics students explore the principles that govern matter and energy, including forces, motion, electricity, waves, and nuclear physics. The IGCSE course encourages curiosity about how the physical world works and strengthens mathematical application and experimental design.
